Mill Creek Urban Farm is an educational farm and environmental education center located in West Philadelphia. We are dedicated to improving local access to fresh, chemical-free produce at low cost for the immediate Mill Creek community and surrounding neighborhoods. We are a people of color-led non-profit organization in service of communities of color in need of basic resources. Mill Creek Urban Farm is dedicated to cultivating a healthy environment, growing strong communities and promoting a just and sustainable food system.

As an essential part of the broader resettlement efforts by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Salt Lake City, the New Roots program enables refugees to celebrate their heritage and nourish themselves and their neighbors by planting strong roots—literally—in their new communities.

The Ohio City Farm, one of the largest contiguous urban farms in the United States at nearly six acres, exists to provide fresh, local and healthy food to Cleveland’s underserved residents, boost the local food economy, and educate the community about the importance of a complete food system. The farm boasts stunning views of the Cleveland skyline and provides a welcome break in the typical urban landscape.

Pingree Farms, situated on the southwest corner of I-75 and 7 Mile Road, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to neighborhood revitalization and youth education through urban agriculture. It seeks to turn vacant and blighted land into an urban food oasis while providing meaningful educational opportunities for Detroit’s young people.

To support activities that contribute to understanding of, and capacity for, enhancing production innovations, regional food security and food sovereignty in urban agriculture in an ecologically sustainable manner.

Victory Programs’ ReVision Urban Farm is an innovative community-based urban agriculture project that grows produce in its own fields and provides access to affordable, nutritious and culturally appropriate food to residents of our ReVision Family Home and our extended community. In association with ReVision Family Home, we also provide job training for youth and Boston’s homeless.

Novick Urban Farm is a 501c3 educational production farm located on 1.3 acres in South Philadelphia, with a dual mission of providing healthy food access and education. With a focus on community outreach through our low cost farm market, we are dedicated to supporting and preserving food traditions that reflect the multi-cultural landscape of our neighborhood. The farm’s educational programs provide children’s groups, and people of all ages, hands-on experiences focused on sustainability, biodiversity and nutrition.

Guided by our mission and core values, our organization works with children, families, community groups, environmental and educational institutions to encourage awareness, and the creation of sustainable local food systems by offering educational programs and a community supported agriculture demonstration project.

Plant It Forward (PIF) is a Houston, Texas-based nonprofit organization with the mission to empower refugees to develop sustainable farming businesses that produce fresh, healthy food for our community.

Project EATS’ mission is for everyone to have the opportunity - regardless of income - to live healthily and to thrive. To achieve our mission, we join with residents and other stakeholders in neighborhoods to work as both a catalyst and support in creating community-based enterprises that grow and distribute food and programs that inspire, engage, cultivate understanding and strengthen ties between neighbors. The end goal is to increase the well-being of individuals and to improve the social, economic, and cultural viability of their communities.

We create opportunities for teens to expand their knowledge base, develop their leadership skills, and positively engage with each other, their community, and the environment. We operate two urban farm sites, and our programs include a teen farm apprenticeship, three weekly farm stands, a CSA, and a school workshop program. Since 2001, we have strived to transform vacant lands into vibrant urban farms, improve access to healthy, affordable produce, and nurture a new generation of green leaders.
