The RCD will fulfill its mission to protect, conserve, and restore natural resources through education, information, and technical assistance programs by operating Wild Willow Farm and Education Center. The mission of the Farm is to connect the community to local food, starting with the soil. We will do this through facilitating agricultural programs that promote resource conservation and regenerative farming practices. Furthermore, the Farm is a nurturing space that encourages biocultural diversity, providing experiences to nurture self-empowerment, and also inspire people to connect to food, land, and each other.

Second Chances Farm is a commercial, hydroponic, indoor vertical farm that grows chemical- and pesticide-free leafy greens, herbs and microgreens. We also nurture people — our farm employees — whom we call “agripreneurs.” Formerly incarcerated persons are our farm workforce. We provide them with mentoring, life skills and job training. In this way, we provide one solution to the epidemic of recidivism -- up to 75 percent within five years -- supplying gainful employment to individuals whose job prospects are limited by their prison records.

Provide access to land, education and other resources so people in Rhode Island can grow food in environmentally sustainable ways and create community food systems where locally produced affordable and healthy food is available to all.

At Sprout, we work towards a better food system by making farming accessible to everyone— that means anyone who wants to farm as a hobby, as a career, or anywhere in between. We build community around growing food and bridge the gaps in resources for farmers of all kinds. Most of our initiatives for bridging these gaps fall into one of these three categories: Farmer training, community gardening and food sovereignty work, and advocating for equitable policy change regionally and beyond.

Riverview Gardens® is a non-profit organization in Appleton, Wisconsin with a mission to build dignity through job training and employment. We believe in the dignity of hard work and allowing people to be part of their own solution. This project engages the entire community in addressing the root causes of unemployment, poverty and homelessness through hard work, creativity and human dignity.

Ruth Bennett Community Farm is an educational farm and environmental center located on 2-acres at the Ruth L. Bennett Homes in Chester, PA. We seek to provide fresh, affordable produce for residents of public housing and the greater Chester community.

The mission of the John Bartram Association is to create equitable relationships among people and nature through immersive, community-driven experiences that activate the Bartram legacy, Garden, and House, on land and on the Schuylkill River, in Southwest Philadelphia.

Since 2009, Sole Food Street Farms―one of North America’s largest urban farm projects―has transformed acres of vacant and contaminated urban land into street farms that grow artisan-quality fruits and vegetables. By providing jobs, agricultural training, and inclusion in a community of farmers and food lovers, the Sole Food project has empowered dozens of individuals with limited resources who are managing addiction and chronic mental health problems.

Sprout City Farms builds educational urban farms to engage communities, strengthen neighborhood resiliency, and root farmers in the city. We envision a thriving local food system supported by a network of accessible city farms which nourish, and are nourished by, their surrounding communities.Our farms serve as a platform for education, health, food justice advocacy, ecological stewardship, community wealth building, and neighborhood resiliency.

​Sprouting Farms is a 501c3 non-profit located in Summers Co, WV, that supports a place-based economic transition in Central Appalachia by scaling up sustainable agriculture and economic development programs to create jobs in economically distressed communities. Our programs provide farm business training and resources and build the regional markets necessary to launch, support, and enable farm businesses.
