The East Phillips neighborhood Urban Farming Institute primary purpose is to educate Latinos, East African and American Indian youth and their families on urban farming and sustainability to create greater access to healthy foods and healthy food practices.

The mission of The Farm at Our House is to grow high quality organically certified produce and to provide the young men of Our House with a work opportunity that stimulates learning, growth, and responsibility.

The Urban Farm strives to inspire excitement for learning through practical work experience in a farm setting while fostering respect, responsibility, curiosity, caring and grit.

Our mission is to build a vibrant creative economy, accessible for all. Through public art, workforce training, and blight remediation, we are able to conquer the drivers of poverty while building culture and inclusion.

We envision a Stark County where a culture of good nutrition creates a better quality of life as well as a community that is rejuvenated and empowered, free from the restraints of systematic poverty. We are connecting growers, consumers, and producers to help create a better food system that focuses on making locally sourced, nutrient-dense, and affordable foods available to everyone in Stark County. We support learning and teaching opportunities that promote the growth, use, and sale of local foods and assist in the growth of urban agricultural and food employment opportunities.

TALMAR is dedicated to enhancing health for people of all ages and abilities through horticulture. TALMAR offers an innovative, therapeutic, vocational environment designed particularly for individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions that impact their health and well-being.

The Battery Urban Farm is an educational farm where New York City’s students, residents, and visitors experience sustainable farming, enjoy tasting organic fresh foods, and learn environmental stewardship. The farm was developed in 2011 by The Battery Conservancy in response to a request for a vegetable garden by eight students from neighboring Millennium High School. From those eight students, we now engage over 5000 students from over 100 schools and community volunteers who annually grow thousands of pounds of vegetables, fruits, herbs, grains, and flowers.

The Food Project’s mission is to create a thoughtful and productive community of youth and adults from diverse backgrounds who work together to build a sustainable food system. Our community produces healthy food for residents of the city and suburbs, provides youth leadership opportunities, and inspires and supports others to create change in their own communities.

The Village Cooperative aims to ensure self determination for the residents of Salt Lake County, by building a local solidarity economy and creating a culture of healing for our people. We will accomplish this with local food production and distribution within a network of locally owned cooperative enterprises, while establishing a community that embraces creativity, art, and self expression.

Our mission is simple: To empower communities to better themselves from within. We do this through community garden volunteer work through shared use Community Gardens/Incubator Farms, other cultivated spaces of opportunity in Phoenix, AZ and landscaping initiatives. In South Phoenix, and other challenged communities where we work, there are high rates of incarceration, poor health choices and a low ranking education system. So how do we combat these challenges? Asset Based Community Development (ABCD). This means we don’t give a hand out, we give the community a hand up and empower our community stakeholders.
The TigerMountain Foundation (TMF) plants fruits & veggies while cultivating better communities. This is done through community garden volunteer work, internships and paid incentivized participation. Our multi-ethnic, inter-generational Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) means we consider each and every person a reciprocal spoke in the wheel of our organizations pending success. We’re definitely live by the mantra “you’re only as good as our last day”.
