Homefields

Millersville, PA - Founded 1995

Homefields is an award-winning nonprofit organization dedicated to creating new life options for people who have disabilities. A modern ranch and 1800s farmhouse are the homes, and an 18-acre farm is the stage. Hundreds of people who have a disability or other barrier to traditional employment have engaged at our Farm, growing organically-minded produce for community shareholders. Six adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities call us “Home.”

Homestead Farm Center Project

Grafton, WV - Founded 2014

The Homestead Farm Center Project, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization founded in 2014, is dedicated to opening opportunities to adults with disabilities to work, learn, live, and thrive in a rural farm setting. Located on 100 acres of the historic Thomas Steele farm in beautiful Taylor County, West Virginia, the farm center offers training and experience in agricultural industries to adults with developmental disabilities, with an emphasis on those with autism spectrum disorders. In addition to working on the farm and learning to market farm products and create urban garden spaces through the Harvest at Home project, participants will have access to recreational activities including fishing, hiking, weaving, and woodworking. Donations are tax deductible.

The Kula Farm opened on Atkins Avenue in Asbury Park in 2015. We’re a social enterprise that provides on-site job training, educational programs, farm to table dinners and free fresh produce to neighbors in need. We also transform vacant lots into community gardens and manage a hydroponic greenhouse. Our produce is sold to the public as well as to local restaurants.
